About BAI

BAI. What is it? What does it do?

BAI stands for Boston AI, or Business AI. BAI in Chinese means 白 (white) or 百 (one hundred). Super cool.

BAI is a forum for Chinese AI practitioners to meet face-to-face. Right now, we aim for monthly meeting that lasts for 2 hours. The meeting takes place in the last Saturday of each month from 2pm to 4pm. If meetings have conflicts with major holidays/events, we will change them in advance.

Meeting format: First 30 minutes are reserved for socializing. The following three presentation sessions take 1.5 hours. Each session has 30 minutes. If necessary, we can combine two regular sessions into a long session (60 minutes).

Advantages of our format over traditional academic seminars. You can go to a university to attend a seminar related to AI. You usually do not know other participants because it is open to everyone and everyone’s interests are different. There is no time for socializing because the event is usually 1 hour instead of 2 hours. The seminar is about 1 topic only. If the topic has no value to you, you waste your time. In our case, you attend 2 to 3 sessions. It greatly increases your chance of learning something new.

What you can gain from attending meetings: Share your project: If you’re planning an AI project, this is the stage to showcase it! Let’s witness your achievements together and provide feedback, working hand in hand to overcome any obstacles you may encounter.

Establish connections and collaborations: Meet like-minded partners, build deep connections, and find potential collaborators or mentors to support your AI journey.

Spark Inspiration: In the “Company Focus” section, we will showcase successful companies’ innovative AI practices to spark your inspiration. Expand your toolbox: Learn from participants who are proficient in specific AI platforms (such as AWS cloud computing for AI applications). Explore new tools and resources to take your project to the next level.
